Graduate Student Interdisciplinary Seminar
on Literacy Studies


Join other graduate students from across the university for
interdisciplinary conversations about literacy and literacy studies.
If you are graduate student interested in cultural, visual, health, or
science literacy; communications; reading or writing practices;
history of the book; education; new media; equality and equity
issues; literacy and language policy; and related questions,
take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas,
hear and discuss graduate student research, and
develop connections with your peers.

Meet us for lunch on
Friday, January 27 from 11:30-1:30 at the
George Wells Knight House, 105 East 15th Avenue.



Susan Hanson, Ph.D. Candidate in English, will present an excerpt from her dissertation that looks at the ways subjects inscribe their identities on the suburban landscape and then lead a discussion of "Literacies, Myths, and Legacies: Lessons from the History of Literacies" by Harvey Graff.

Adriatico's pizza and drinks will be provided,
but we need to know that you're coming.
